Kollam Temple Fire Relief ( 2016-04-19 )



The Isa Viswa Prajnana Trust wishes to provide relief to the homes and families who were affected terribly by the Kollam Temple Fire.

110 persons were killed and close to 400 injured on April 10 when a huge stash of firecrackers exploded at the Puttingal Devi Temple in Kollam, Kerala.  The blast and subsequent fire caused extensive damage to nearby buildings.  

 

Updates:

May 3: IVPT is accepting donations to help in providing psychological counseliing and care especially to elderly and children who were traumatized by the carnage and destruction.

April 22: IVPT visited homes near the temple and provided drinking water. All the nearby wells have been contaminated by chemicals and debris. Many homes are damaged and residents have no one to turn to.  See our video

April 11: More than one hundred people killed, many injured in a fireworks catastrophe during a celebration at the Puttingal Devi Temple, Kollam. The fire caused damage to many homes within a 1 km radius.

IVPT is calling for assistance to send aid, water and supplies.
